Guide Price£100
Ends in:01 May 2015 12:00:00 BST (bidding ended)

Presented by Solway Feeders Ltd, Main Street, Dundrennan, KIRKCUDBRIGHT, Dumfries & Galloway, DG6 4QH.

Website: www.solwayfeeders.com

The versatile Multi Larsen Trap is designed to be able to deal with magpies and carrion crows. It has three catching compartments around its edge, and a spacious call bird compartment in the middle. It is effective in almost any circumstance, and particularly efficient when used on open ground, away from trees or fences.

The side entry sliding trap doors are operated by a wire treadle which is situated inside each catching compartment. When a crow or magpie enters the trap, its first instinct is to hop onto the treadle, which then closes the door behind it. The "multi" function allows it to catch up to three times the amount of magpies or crows when compared to a conventional Larsen Trap.

For more details about the Multi Catch Larsen Trap and General Licence law requirements, please visit the Solway Feeders website.

The Multi Catch Larsen Trap arrives assembled and ready for use and is available for Free delivery to any UK mainland address by arrangement with the Donor.

Lot 902: Three day field assessment and report back survey for a Moorland Estate

Guide Price£500
Item available until:16 May 2015 12:00:00 BST (finished)

Presented by Professor Roy Brown, 7 Lime Chase, KIRBYMOORSIDE, North Yorkshire, YO62 6BX.

Professor Roy Brown is offering a full three day field assessment and report back survey for a moorland estate looking at either issues of tick borne disease or preparing a bracken management plan which will comply with the new environmental stewardship schemes' requirements (the schemes will become available from 01/01/2016).

The stewardship requirements will be different in Scotland and England but the management plan will accommodate this. The lot will be of particular interest to moor owners/managers where there is a bracken problem, even if there is a current control programme, as it will include the opportunity to have a thorough appraisal of the existing bracken condition, to take part in current trials on bracken control and to have some primary bracken control and follow up carried out without charge as part of the five year scientific study.

The commercial rate for this type of package would normally be £400 per day and more, if a detailed analysis, as well as preparation of a practical advisory report, were needed. A special rate is being offered for the Country Market & Sporting Sale.

The best time for both surveys to be taken is July by arrangement with the donor. If the moorland was more than a couple of hours from North Yorkshire, accommodation may be required by separate negotiation.
