Item information
Description
Presented by Barrie Hunt:
An opportunity to bid for a virtually unused vintage 3 draw leather clad field telescope manufactured in 1940s/50s by Newbold & Bulford of London, under their brand name ENBEECO.
This is a very nice example of a 3 draw field or stalkers telescope, complete with original leather cladding.
The optics are all in good condition with a 50mm objective lens and a pancratic tube providing four levels of magnification 25x, 30x, 35x and 40x power.
The image clarity is very good as is the overall cosmetic condition.
With a firm draw action, the draw tubes and main barrel are dent free and retain their full anti-glare coating, important when being used in the field.
The length fully drawn is 33 inches (84cm) with the first tube being engraved ‘FIELD (C&S) 25x-40x, ENBEECO LONDON.’
The brown calf leather cladding, protective end caps and carrying strap are in excellent condition with only the odd scuff. The stitching is all intact and clean.
An excellent example that would grace any field day.
Due to the nature of this Lot it will need to be collected from either The Heather Trust office, just outside Lochmaben in Dumfries and Galloway or from the bidders address at: NG33 4SB in Lincolnshire.
