A rare and exclusive opportunity for four people to visit a stunning Perthshire estate and see “behind the scenes” on a wildlife safari with Ronnie Kippen, the headkeeper.
Spring is the best time to see wildlife in the hills, and the management undertaken for grouse shooting at Garrows estate has created a fantastic environment for a whole host of breeding birds and mammals. Enjoy close encounters with breeding curlews, oystercatchers and lapwings from the keeper’s vehicle without disturbing the birds, taking front row seats for a really stunning natural spectacle.
There are a growing number of active black grouse leks on the estate, and mountain hares and red grouse can be seen at amazingly close quarters. Lucky visitors might be in for a chance of meeting the famous “Jock” – a grouse who earned himself celebrity status in the national press last year for his fearlessness. Jock is totally undaunted by human beings, and he stands proudly at his post for photographs like a true star.
Remember to bring your camera and binoculars for this fascinating and memorable morning.
