Sir Edward Dashwood Bt., West Wycombe Park Office, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP14 3AJ

www.westwycombeestate.co.uk

A morning/evening Muntjac Stalk with 1 Rifle on the West Wycombe Estate, Buckinghamshire (30 miles from London). It will be accompanied by an Estate Keeper (a tip is suggested) and can get the use of an Estate Rifle if buyer does not have their own. Buyer gets to keep carcass.

West Wycombe Estate extends to some 5,000 acres and the shoot is managed by Sir Edward Dashwood, Bt, an extremely keen shot himself. Sir Edward Dashwood 12th Bt currently resides at West Wycombe Park with his wife and family. West Wycombe Estate is consistently referred to as one of the finest shoots in the Country. Today the shoot still ranks amongst the best, and is regularly in the Field’s list of Top Shoots. Certainly it is probably the closest really good shoot to London. The house today is frequently featured in screen adaptations of literary classics such as Cranford and Little Dorrit and more recently in the television series, Downton Abbey. Other films include W.E., The Importance of being Earnest, I Capture the Castle, The Lost Prince and He Knew He was Right.

There is a nice pub in West Wycomne Villiage, if accommodation required.

Lot 205: 2 days back to back hind stalking for 1 rifle on Argyll Estates and 4 Inveraray Castle Entry Tickets

Final bid:
£915

Presented by His Grace The Duke of Argyll, Argyll Estates, Inveraray, Argyll, PA32 8XE,

Website: www.inveraray-castle.com.

Two day’s back to back hind stalking for one rifle on Argyll Estates. Argyll Estates cover an area in excess of 50,000 acres and offer some of the finest hill and woodland stalking available in Scotland. You will be accompanied by The Estate Stalker. There is no limit on numbers of hinds shot. The Estate can provide use of the Estate rifle, if necessary.

Included in this lot are 4 Inveraray Castle Entry Tickets. Inveraray Castle is the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll, Chief of the Clan Campbell and the iconic, must-see visitor attraction on the West Coast of Scotland. Inveraray Castle has been standing on the shores of Loch Fyne since the 1400s, although the impressive castle we know today was inspired by a sketch by Vanbrugh, the architect of Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard in the 1700s. Inveraray is easily one of the most iconic castles in Scotland, but there's a lot more to it than that. A wander round the exquisite gardens, a woodland walk and a visit to their traditional tearoom. Inveraray Castle was the chosen location for the Downton Abbey Christmas 2012 episode. Accommodation is at the bidder’s expense – local pubs and B&B’s can be recommended.

To be taken on dates to be mutually agreed in the coming season with the Estate Factor, Hugh A Nicol.
