A day’s salmon fishing for two rods on Tillmouth water, one of the best beats of the River Tweed. The day is to be taken on Saturday 14th July 2018.

The Lot is suitable for either experienced rods or beginners (instruction can be provided to the latter by the boatmen/ghillies).

The fishing will be under the River Tweed Angling Code and the rods will be accompanied by a dedicated ghillie throughout the day.

Rods should bring their own equipment and advice on this can be obtained from the Tillmouth head boatman Willie Elliot (telephone 07815 808268), who should be contacted in advance of the day’s fishing for final arrangements.

Two day's salmon fishing (wild brown trout included) for two rods on the River Lyon, in a beautiful Perthshire glen near Kenmore.

The winning bidder will fish two beats, one on each day. Dates should be tied in with a freshet. We would recommend fishing in May – July or September.

All salmon to be released. Return small trout.

On the trout front, If the day is right, the use of an upstream dry fly can produce prolific results, with wonderful brown trout of up to 2+ lbs to be had. May – July suggested, then September.

A Ghillie can be arranged to brief on and escort (at additional cost)

There are plenty of local hotels, B&Bs, cottages and the famous Fortinghall Hotel nearby.

In a focussed hands-on butchery course with one of Peelham's craft butchers learn how to cut-down a whole lamb and a whole pig. Recognise and cut the different joints, make sausages and learn about dry-curing and air-drying. Do all of this with fellow foodies and join-in the chat about food and farming with them and us."

The exact route to be followed will depend on the weather and tides on the day. All food, and drinks and safety equipment will be provided, and it may be possible to provide some waterproof clothing by arrangement.
